K–12 Education Supports
Toquaht Nation values education as the foundation for a better future. Our Community Services department provides tutoring and financial assistance for students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. We also celebrate the achievements of our children and youth by participating in the NTC bursaries and awards and graduation ceremony.
Graduating Grade 12 Students
We offer financial recognition to youth who graduate from Grade 12, so don’t forget to share a copy of your diploma with us! Send a copy of your dogwood diploma to education@toquaht.ca to receive your recognition.
School Supplies Allowance
Toquaht Nation provides an annual allowance to help cover the cost of school supplies for Toquaht citizens who are registered in grades K–12.
The application for this allowance may be completed by the Toquaht student or their parent/guardian and are accepted throughout the year.

Youth Recreation Fund
Toquaht citizens under 26 years old are eligible to receive an annual allowance to participate in healthy recreational activities and extracurricular field trips outside the regular school curriculum. The Recreation Fund covers the cost of organized activities, as well as related supplies or equipment. For example, if a youth is interested in playing soccer, costs such as registration fees, required shoes/uniform, and travel for out-of-town tournaments are eligible expenses.
Applications for the Recreation Fund can be completed by a Toquaht student or their parent or guardian and can be submitted at any time throughout the year. Funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Refer to the Recreation Fund Policy for more information.

Good Grades Allowance
Toquaht Nation rewards students in grades 1 to 12 who excel academically with the Good Grades Allowance program. This incentive recognizes Toquaht citizens who attend school regularly, strive for good grades, and are committed to pursuing higher education.
To be eligible for the allowance, Toquaht students must submit their report cards for each academic term within two weeks of receiving them. Only report cards received during the school year (September to June) will be considered.

Scholarships & NTC Graduation Ceremony
Toquaht participates in the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Scholarships and Graduation ceremony. The NTC celebrates the success of students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 by awarding scholarships and holding an annual Nuu-chah-nulth graduation ceremony. Toquaht students can apply to education@toquaht.ca receive financial support to attend the ceremony.
The NTC Education program coordinates scholarships and awards for Nuu-chah-nulth students annually. This includes a $50 prize draw for several students in grades K–12. To be eligible, students must have good attendance, participate in school and cultural activities, and be helpful towards others. To find out how to submit your student’s name, please contact education@toquaht.ca. We will announce application details on social media when they become available as well.
