Adult Basic Education
Adults aged 18 and above can enroll in Adult Basic Education (ABE) courses at local school districts for free. The ABE diploma is equivalent to a BC Grade 12 certificate (also known as the “Adult Dogwood”), and it helps prepare individuals for employment or further studies. Eligible students may receive a living allowance.
Toquaht citizens enrolled in ABE courses leading to an Adult Dogwood can apply for living allowance. Check out the Toquaht Education and Training Support Policy for more information.
Toquaht also offers support to youth aged 16–18 who are on youth agreements with MCFD to live independently while completing their Grade 12.
