Orders in Effect
Visit the Legislation section for updated information on orders issued by the Toquaht Nation Government that apply to citizens and visitors on Toquaht Lands. Any current State of Emergency Order can be found there as well.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the taayii ḥaw̓ił (chief, noble) declared a state of local emergency between March 30, 2020, and July 1, 2021, due to public health risks.
This order empowered the Executive to take response measures, and the Director of Operations and the Director of Community Services to carry out their duties and exercise their Emergency Preparedness Act powers.
Although the state of local emergency has ended, all individuals entering Toquaht Lands are required to comply with current public health guidelines for COVID-19 response measures issued by the Province of British Columbia or British Columbia’s Centre for Disease Control.
taayii ḥaw̓ił (highest ranking chief) appreciates your cooperation and understanding during these challenging times.
